Day 1: Home to India
Depart from home for New Delhi. Upon arrival in New Delhi in the morning, meet with our representative at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy breakfast and relax at the hotel. In the afternoon, embark on a tour of Old Delhi for sightseeing. Overnight stay at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi to Leh
Check out from the hotel early morning and catch a flight to Leh, which takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. Arrive at Leh Airport, situated at an altitude of 3505m, between 7:00 and 8:00 in the morning. Upon arrival, meet with a Metta Insight journey representative and transfer to the Hotel. Spend the full day acclimatizing to the altitude to avoid altitude sickness. Overnight stay at the guesthouse in Leh.
Day 3: Leh
Explore Leh:
Visit the old royal palace, the Avalokteshvara Temple, and the historic city of Leh. After lunch, visit Leh Bazar. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel in Leh.
Day 4: Leh to Matho & Stok Palace
Visit Matho Monastery, known for its beautiful monastery and panoramic views of the Indus Valley. Explore the ancient artifacts and paintings in the monastery. Then, visit Stok Palace, the residence of Ladakh’s royal family, which houses a remarkable museum showcasing Ladakh’s rich heritage. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 5: Leh to Hemis Day Hike to Meditation Cave
Embark on a day hike to Hemis Monastery, exploring its meditation cave and surrounding buildings. Enjoy scenic views along the way, including sightings of wildlife. Later, visit the largest monastery in Ladakh, with its impressive museum collection. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 6: Leh to Nubra Valley
Travel to Nubra Valley via Khardong La Pass, the world’s highest motorable road. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Karakoram Mountains. Dinner and overnight stay at a guesthouse/camp in Nubra Valley.
Day 7: Nubra Valley
Explore Diskit and Hundar villages, known for their beauty and history. Optionally, enjoy a camel ride through the dunes. Dinner and overnight stay at a guesthouse/camp in Nubra Valley.
Day 8: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake via the Shyok River
Drive to Pangong Tso, the largest brackish lake in Asia, known for its stunning beauty and unique wildlife. Overnight stay in a camp near Pangong Lake.
Day 9: Pangong Lake
Relax or meditate by the lakeside. Overnight stay in a camp near Pangong Lake.
Day 10: Pangong Lake to Leh
Return to Leh via Chang La Pass, enjoying scenic views along the way. Overnight stay at a hotel in Leh.
Day 11: Free Day in Leh
Enjoy a free day for individual activities and shopping. Optionally, visit a coffee shop. Overnight stay at a hotel in Leh.
Day 12: Visit to Ladakhi Doctor/Amchi
After breakfast, participate in an introduction to Traditional Ladakhi Medicine with a Ladakhi nun and doctor, Ani Palmo (Amchi). Alternatively, visit another skilled Ladakhi Amchi for health check-ups. Overnight stay at a hotel in Leh.
Day 13: Visit Ladakhi Private Organizations
Explore Ladakh’s NGOs run by different private organizations, gaining knowledge in various fields. Overnight stay at a hotel in Leh.
Day 14: Leh to Delhi
In the morning, check out from the hotel and transfer to Leh Airport for a flight back to Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, meet with a Metta Insight Journey representative and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy lunch and then proceed for sightseeing in Delhi. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight stay at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 15: Delhi to Home
