Itinerary:
Day 1: Flight from Home to Delhi.
Arrival in Delhi on the morning of Day 2: Transfer to the hotel for rest. In the afternoon, visit the Old City of Delhi: Jama Masjid Mosque and Chandni Chowk. Overnight stay at a hotel in Delhi.
Day 3: Delhi-Bagdogra–Darjeeling (2-hour flight + drive)
After breakfast, transfer to Delhi Airport for the onward journey to Bagdogra. Pickup by a representative at Bagdogra Airport and drive through a densely populated landscape to the famous tea town of Darjeeling (3-4 hours). Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 4: Darjeeling.
Visit Tiger Hill early in the morning for its panoramic views. After breakfast, embark on a half-day city tour. Depending on the local schedule, enjoy a thrilling train ride to Ghoom from the historic Darjeeling Railway Station. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
Day 5: Darjeeling – Gangtok (approx. 100km / 3.5 hours)
FOCUS OF THE DAY: Sikkim – The world’s first “organic state.” After breakfast, drive to Gangtok, the capital of the former kingdom of Sikkim (now a state of India). Overnight stay in a hotel in Gangtok.
Day 6: Gangtok – Phuentsholing (220km / approx. 6 hours)
Border town India-Bhutan. After breakfast, drive to Bhutan. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
Day 7: Flight Delhi – Bagdogra – Phuntsholing.
After breakfast, fly to Bagdogra and then drive to Phuntsholing. Overnight stay in Phuntsholing.
Day 8: Phuntsholing – Thimphu
After breakfast, drive to the capital Thimphu. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 9: Thimphu Festival (Thimphu Tsechu)
Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 10: Thimphu
FOCUS OF THE DAY: Introduction to the art and culture of Bhutan. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 11: Thimphu – Punakha (approx. 85km / approx. 2.5 hours).
FOCUS OF THE DAY: The history of Bhutan. Overnight stay in Punakha.
Day 12: Punakha.
Overnight stay in Punakha.
Day 13: Punakha – Paro.
Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 14: Paro.
FOCUS OF THE DAY: Day hike to the “Tiger’s Nest Monastery.” Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 15: Paro – Delhi
Flight to back Home. Transfer to Paro International Airport for the flight to Delhi. Transfer to the international airport in Delhi for the flight back Home.
